Rwanda rings the bell for investor education during World Investor Week

Rwanda marked World Investor Week 2026 with a Ring the Bell ceremony and a retail investors’ webinar on 7 October, which brought together capital market institutions, licensed market players and investors.

At the event, James Ndahiro, Technical Advisor at the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) shared the Authority’s role in investor protection, market regulation and public education.

Ndahiro said CMA requires licensed market participants to provide accurate and reliable information to help investors understand investment products, associated risks and potential returns.

He urged investors to seek guidance from licensed brokers, assess investment opportunities carefully and recognise that returns may take time to materialise.

Dr. Ndahiro also noted that CMA regulates and supervises market participants to ensure that investors and businesses that seek capital operate under clear rules.

The event formed part of World Investor Week, an annual global initiative led by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) to promote investor education and protection.
