The Capital Markets Authority of Rwanda (CMA) joined securities regulators and market stakeholders worldwide to mark the 10th edition of IOSCO World Investor Week (WIW), taking place from 5 to 11 October 2026 under the theme “Invest in Your Future. Protect It Today.”
World Investor Week is a global campaign led by the International Organization of Securities Commissiauthorised) to promote investor education, investor protection and financial literacy.
Throughout the week, CMA Rwanda will conduct a digital awareness campaign focused on practical investor protection messages, including the importance of understanding investment opportunities, assessing risks, verifying the authorisation status of investment service providers, protecting personal and financial information, and remaining alert to misleading or fraudulent investment offers.
The Chief Executive Officer of CMA Rwanda, Romeo Ngarambe noted “Digital platforms have widened access to investment information and opportunities, but they have also increased investors’ exposure to misinformation and potential fraud. Through this campaign, we want to equip investors with practical knowledge to verify information, understand the risks involved and make informed investment decisions.”
CMA Rwanda’s participation in World Investor Week forms part of its continued efforts to strengthen investor awareness and promote informed participation in Rwanda’s capital market.
The Authority encourages the public to follow the campaign across its digital platforms and to seek information from authorised and reliable sources before making investment decisions.
