The Capital Markets Authority of Rwanda participated in the 13th edition of the Building African Financial Markets (BAFM) Forum, held on 1 - 2 July 2026 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) and the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) jointly organised the Forum under the theme, “Driving Capital Market Growth in Africa through Innovation, Integration and Inclusive Participation.”
The Chief Executive Officer of CMA, Romeo Ngarambe joined regulators, African stock exchange leaders, pension funds, brokers and development finance institutions, including the African Development Bank, the International Finance Corporation and the World Bank, for two days of dialogue on the future of the continent’s capital markets.
The discussions covered market liquidity, fintech and digital innovation, cross-border listings, capital flows under the AfCFTA, ESG instruments, ETFs, REITs and platforms that expand SME access to finance.
The Authority used the Forum to advance regional integration, investor protection and the development of Rwanda’s capital market as a competitive destination for domestic and international capital.
CEO Ngarambe said “Africa’s capital markets are strongest when we build them together. Forums such as BAFM allow us to turn shared ambition into practical cooperation on liquidity, innovation and investor access, and help our markets deliver real and inclusive opportunities.”
BAFM Forum is an ASEA capacity-development programme that promotes growth, resilience, efficiency and inclusivity across African financial markets and improves the global competitiveness of the continent’s exchanges.
