Capital market players urged to embrace professionalism

The Capital Market Authority (CMA) is mandated by Law n° 23/2017 of 31/05/2017 establishing CMA and determining its mission, organization and functioning in its Article 5 to develop a fair, orderly and secure capital market in order to promote investor confidence in our market and economy. For this purpose of implementing its mission, CMA on Thursday, October 19, 2017 hosts the workshop on code of conduct of business for capital market players and stakeholders.

Bénédicte Himbaza a stock broker from Baraka Capital Limited commends CMA on organising such an insightful workshop to remind market players on how to embrace professionalism and contribute to the market development.

The Technical Advisor at CMA, Robert Mathu stressed that “Capital market players must understand all regulations and should embrace honesty, integrity, fairness and professionalism to keep contributing to the development of our growing market.”

The Chief Executive Director of Rwanda Stock Exchange, Celestin Rwabukumba addressing market players advised them to have attention to all details and work as a team that must excel always. He further added that “This kind of workshops enhance knowledge and skills of all market players as we work together to develop our market.”

The CMA’s vision is to be a key contributor to Rwanda becoming a competitive financial center through mobilization of long term capital and their mission is to nurture wealth by facilitating the development of an orderly, fair, transparent and efficient capital market.
