CMA, RSE, iCPAR and market players support Genocide survivors in Nyamagabe

Staff and management of the Capital Market Authority (CMA), Rwanda Stock Exchange (RSE), Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda (iCPAR)  on Friday paid tribute to victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi that are laid to rest at Murambi Genocide memorial, Nyamagabe District. The support worth about Rwf 2 million was presented to 26 genocide survivors living in Gasaka Sector.

Beata Mukamana, a survivor of the genocide living in Nyamugari Cell in Gasaka Sector stressed “We are really grateful for the support we received, we are very happy that people outside there think about us, since we have many challenges and this support gives us hope for a brighter future.”

The Deputy Executive Director of the Capital Market Authority, Eric Bundugu says “This is part of our responsibilities and one of our core values to help the society mainly support survivors of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi and we regularly visit them across Rwanda and our activities will not stop here.”

He added that “We will continue supporting survivors of the genocide against the Tutsi to ensure that they all have better standards of living to and sustainable development that everyone deserves.”

The Corporate Services Division Manager at Nyamagabe District, Bosco Ngabonziza commends the staff from CMA, RSE and iCPAR for supporting genocide survivors in Gasaka Sector.

“Helping them is an important activity of a great value, we really appreciate your collaboration and we honestly assure you that we will always aim at helping the survivors to have a better and contribute to their development and for the country at large,” stressed Ngabonziza.

At the memorial, the team was explained how the genocide was orchestrated, and laid flowers on the graves of the victims buried at Murambi Genocide Memorial, it is the final resting place to about 50,000 bodies of Tutsi victims of the Genocide killed at Murambi Technical School and its surroundings.
